Kandinsky Prize 2019

In a historic first, the nominees exhibition was hosted by a museum. This groundbreaking decision signifies a fresh approach to the prize, forging a partnership with prominent art institutions in the country. The exhibition brings together the works of 30 artists, encompassing a diverse range of mediums and techniques.

The 2019 show marked a milestone by featuring an unprecedented number of works created using new media, such as video and sound installations. Our objective was to find a multimedia approach that seamlessly integrated these technological pieces with traditional mediums throughout the museum spaces. This entailed not only selecting and renting equipment, but also using corridors and staircases as exhibition areas. Consequently, the development of the show’s technological design took into account the entirety of the museum’s architectural layout.
